Bayer, a well-known pharmaceutical manufacturer is now being sued for negative side-effects and injuries from the use of their Mirena IUD device. The device itself is implanted into the uterus and it lasts for up to five years. So far, Mirena had been found to be 99% effective.

The Mirena IUD was FDA approved back in 2000 and since then it has been used by over 2 million women throughout the U.S.

Lawsuits are being brought against Bayer in regards to Mirena because of unknown risks associated with the product. Bayer did not issue a proper warning to the IUD users and women who underwent the implanting procedure have had unreasonable side effects.
