Arash Zabetian is the Managing Partner of Martinian Lawyers, Inc. He has been with the firm since its early days, joining while still in law school and playing a central role in its development and trial practice. His work focuses on complex personal injury, trucking litigation, premises liability, civil rights, and high-stakes cases against institutional defendants.

Mr. Zabetian graduated cum laude from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Although recruited by large law firms, he chose to represent individuals against corporations, governmental entities, and other powerful defendants. His practice is grounded in a simple premise: clients facing institutional opposition require counsel with the preparation, technical command, and resolve to succeed.

Before law school, Mr. Zabetian studied computer science and began his career in the technology industry. That experience shapes his analytical approach to litigation, particularly in cases involving complex systems, technical evidence, and expert-driven defenses.

Mr. Zabetian has secured multiple seven- and eight-figure results, with verdicts and settlements routinely recognized among the top results of the year in California. In 2023, he secured a $22.6 million jury verdict against the City of Los Angeles, the largest premises liability verdict in California that year. The case turned on liability theories many experts failed to identify or grasp. Through persistence and disciplined development of the record, Mr. Zabetian helped present a theory of liability that withstood repeated legal challenges and was ultimately accepted by the jury.

His civil rights work has received national recognition. In 2015, The Recorder named one of his police misconduct cases a top-five civil rights result in the country. The case was later covered by The New York Times. These matters reflect his experience litigating against public entities under intense legal, factual, and public scrutiny.

Mr. Zabetian has significant experience in appellate advocacy and has achieved multiple successful appellate outcomes, including a published opinion. Appellate considerations inform his case strategy from the outset, with careful attention to preserving and advancing legal theories capable of withstanding review.

He devotes substantial effort to mastering not only the law, but also the scientific and technical disciplines implicated in his cases, including medicine and multiple fields of engineering. His ability to absorb complex information and identify weaknesses in defense theories and expert testimony distinguishes his advocacy. He is driven by doing what is right, by understanding each client’s story, and by aligning legal strategy with the realities of the client’s life and needs.

Mr. Zabetian has been recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyers honoree since 2016, first as a Rising Star and, beginning in 2025, as a Super Lawyer.

Outside of his practice, Mr. Zabetian enjoys spending time with his family and staying active, often on a bike or on the tennis court.
