Martinian has successfully obtained settlements and verdicts for clients in both state and federal courts totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. As a young attorney, Mr. Martinian secured a notable broken arm verdict equaling $600,000.00. In the appellate brief, the defense lawyer wrote that it was the largest such verdict in California history for that type of injury. Since then, Mr. Martinian has gone on to recover numerous multi-million dollar settlements for wrongful death, motor vehicle accident, and premises liability cases. Today, Martinian leads a team of attorneys skilled in handling an array of case-types, including personal injury, criminal defense, wrongful death, funeral home negligence, and product liability.
Mr. Martinian was born in Armenia and migrated to Los Angeles in his late teens. Growing up in Soviet-occupied Armenia, Martinian faced a number of challenges, but persevered by maintaining an unwavering work ethic as well as a unique focus on setting and achieving personal goals. With an unbreakable optimism, Martinian dedicated himself to bettering his life and obtaining a level of success which epitomizes the “American dream.” He has built Martinian Lawyers from humble beginnings into a multi-million dollar Los Angeles firm known for its deep commitment to clients as well as the community.
Martinian discovered his passion for justice and the law through being personally trained by legendary civil trial lawyers such as Charles B. O’Reilly (a two-time Consumer Attorneys Association’s Trial Lawyer of the Year Award recipient) and Anthony K. Brooklier (a prominent Hollywood criminal defense attorney with a client list of celebrities and business titans). Training with this caliber of attorneys helped Martinian develop a mastery of civil and criminal law while furthering his reputation as an attorney who fights tirelessly for justice by representing clients with the highest level of skill and dedication.
Mr. Martinian provides every client – whether a victim harmed by negligence or an individual charged with a crime – with effective and aggressive representation. When Martinian takes your case, he offers you peace of mind through a proven track record of maximizing civil claim values and resolving criminal charges – with the end goal always being justice for you as the client.
Martinian’s unique approach to litigation and trial work includes exploring innovative perspectives from law professors, judges, formal judges, and defense attorneys. He applies that same approach to various passions outside of his legal practice.
Martinian began training in martial arts at the age of 10 and has achieved the level of black belt. He attributes his self-discipline, persistence, and commitment to excellence in lawyering to the knowledge and skill-sets he’s obtained through mastering martial arts.
Mr. Martinian practices and teaches meditation and is devoted to the belief that as human beings, we are limitless. For Martinian, putting physical, mental, or spiritual limitations on oneself equates to not living (and in fact dying by not achieving one’s full capacity for growth and achievement).
Unlike many high-profile attorneys, Martinian did not intend to pursue a career in law. In fact, he wanted to be a scientist. Math is one of Mr. Martinian’s true passions. But as an undergraduate student, a disagreement with a professor (she was incredulous to his ability to solve calculus problems in his mind) caused him to change career paths and eventually obtain his Juris Doctor degree from Abraham Lincoln University.
While attending law school, Martinian took a year off to serve as an advisor for Al Gore’s 2000 presidential campaign. Following the campaign’s conclusion, Martinian continued pursuing his legal career which culminated in the founding of Martinian Lawyers, a top-rated California personal injury and criminal defense firm that prioritizes results in the courtroom as well as supporting communities in the Los Angeles-area that are underserved.
Martinian and his firm have provided support for a number diverse Los Angeles-area community organizations, including the Bengali Community of Southern California and various Latino, Georgian, Russian, and Armenian communities.
As a recipient of the National Trial Lawyers, Top 100 Trial Lawyers in California Award (2014, 2015) and The National Trial Lawyers, Top 40 Under 40 Award (2013), Tigran Martinian has been recognized as one of Los Angeles’ most skilled personal injury and criminal defense attorneys by achieving unparalleled results for his clients (which have included a number of prominent lawyers, judges, and Fortune 500 executives). Whether you’re injured and need to pursue financial compensation in a civil claim or are facing potentially life-altering criminal charges, attorney Tigran Martinian will always provide the same level of dedication, expertise, and professionalism to each and every client.
